Homewhiz Adaptive Wash

Arçelik

With A-wash feature, users are able to give feedback to their washing cycles and get customized updates based on their changing needs.

Launch: 2022

Overview

In order to customize the washing experience for specific needs, Homewhiz platform offers a feedback system for users to rate the washing performance for each cycle. This way, the washing program is optimized for the next cycles.

My role & process

Defining the UX strategy
Being part of an agile team, I led the user experience strategy and design the UX & UI for the first release of the product. We also developed a research plan with the research team to collect real-time user experiences during field tests.

UI design
Designing UI based on Homewhiz design system and style guide.

Giving regular feedback needs motivation from users side; getting the most extensive information from users in a short time was our main focus in this design project. We defined the 6 main topics that gives sufficient information for our engineering team to optimize the washing program, as well as make it meaningful for users to evaluate the washing performance. Secondly, giving transparent feedback about the “adaptive wash” process, from how it works to analyzing and updating the program was another important UX design criteria.

After the release of A-Wash, the same feature was extended to Dryer and Dishwasher products. We also introduced an enhanced results screen to provide clearer, more impactful feedback on how the user’s evaluation influences the cycle. The new screen highlights the expected changes in energy consumption and program duration based on the user’s selections.
