An extensive research and design process for new UI of product families for Arçelik, Beko and Grundig brands.

Overview

Premium product segment for washing machine, dryer, oven and dishwasher with advanced technology and connectivity features launched for new product family. We created a UI design language that has a more flexible, informative, guiding user interface with emotional effects, aiming to enhance users daily life experiences.

Designing for hybrid (physical & digital) user interfaces

Our challenge was to create a UI language that is adaptable for different types of white goods with variety of feature sets and functionalities.
We created a shared UI layout for oven, dishwasher, washing machine that has the same touch areas:

The UI consists of touch buttons and and a TFT screen, so we designed  user interactions tailored for each product category. We prioritized the mostly used functions and make them as a quick access; using TFT screens dynamic design capabilities as a better feedback mechanism.

Micro-interactions as a tool for making system feedback stronger

Through a combination of thoughtful animations, micro-interactions, and analogical design principles, our UX design aims to create a seamless and enjoyable experience that resonates positively with users, fostering long-term engagement and satisfaction.

To achieve this, we conducted thorough research into micro-interactions, understanding how subtle animations and feedback can significantly impact user perception and satisfaction. By incorporating principles such as simplicity, consistency, and feedback loops, we ensured that our animations were not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and intuitive.
